In the American Gods season 3 finale, we saw Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) bound to Yggdrasil, the World Tree, where he was holding a death vigil for Mr. The optimist in me is thinking that they are just ironing out the details and we’ll hear something any day now. ![]() ![]() It’s possible that something like this could happen for American Gods, but I fear too many months have gone by without news. The same thing happened with NBC’s Manifest, which was picked up by Netflix for a final 20-episode season. For example, after NBC canceled its time-traveling series Timeless, fans rioted, and it eventually got a movie to wrap up the storyline. We haven’t heard anything about that in recent days, but this sort of thing has happened before. But there’s still been buzz that there could be a series wrap-up in the form of a TV movie or something. īack in 2019, Gaiman and showrunner Charles “Chic” Eglee were making plans for the fourth season, but after the cancellation, those plans came to a screeching halt.
